Day 17 and feeling good

Man I tell you what, I had no idea I'd be feeling this good so fast. I was so petrified that I'd be completely out of it for a month and I'm just sitting here on the floor with one leg tucked under me typing on the laptop and feeling pretty darn good!

I had another follow up visit with Dr. Telepun yesterday and he's feeling great about my progress also. I'm kind of "scabby" now which he says is perfect and that I'm to continue to keep my two areas dry. Dr. Telepun doesn't have me using any lotions, creams, or gels right now either. He looked at my before picture and said "yeah, your after pictures are going to look really good".

ALWAYS nice to hear from your Doctor!

I slept in the bed for the first time last night!! It was very exciting. After I got my Loratab prescription refilled it numbed the hips enough to make it possible to sleep on my side. I really seem to only need pain medicine at night. Otherwise I'm not in much pain at all.

So there's my newest update. Feeling good!!!

Sleepless...

Last night sleeping was almost impossible. I'm now at the point where I'm uncomfortable in the recliner and I still can't sleep in a bed. My hips are in horrendous pain when any pressure is put on them. So why am I complaining... well I didnt get more pain pills when I could have and now I'm beating myself up. I have a Dr.'s appointment tomorrow, but man I wish I would have gone ahead and gotten a prescription on Friday when I knew I was going to run out.

Moral of the story: Don't think all the pain is gone just because you can get by on a half a pain pill 2x a day.

2 week mark

Today marks 2 weeks since my surgery. On the whole I'm getting around very well and I feel mostly normal. There are still two primary areas that hurt still. Extreme Breast sensitivity and my hips. The ways the scars fall and the fact that Dr. Telepun lipos just that area to make sure your scars will lay flat means some serious bruising. I would imagine that people who have lipo AND tummy tuck at the time are in significantly more pain than I have been.

I still cant sleep in a bed, so I've been in a recliner for two weeks and quite honestly I'm sick to death of it I keep trying to sleep in the bed but I cant sleep on my side because my hips hurt SO bad from the lipo/scar and I cant sleep on my stomach because... duh, and then I can't sleep on my back flat without putting my knees up because my stomach is still so tight and if makes me feel like my scar is pulling. So I'm really glad my husband thought to put the recliner up here or I'd be in some pretty bad pain.

I've noticed that my legs are hurting. Like they're sore maybe? They mostly bother me when I'm trying to go to sleep, but this is a problem I had before the surgery.

In regards to my red mark I posted about two days ago. I took the rest of the antibiotic and haven't removed my waist binder and it is going down significantly. There's just a tiny spot of red remaining. Dr. Telepun had told me I could quit my antibiotic and I still had about 10 pills left, so when something looked a bit like infection I started right back to taking them. I'm not sure if it was the antibiotic or the binder increasing circulation again, but its going down. I have a check up on Wednesday, so I guess I will find out about it then.

All in all I'd say I'm very happy with the results. Every time I look at my stomach I still can't believe that it is ME. I'm 2 weeks in, still in pain, and I can already say 100% worth it!

The Red Spot

Ok, so day 2 at the pool was a success. I even wore a bathing suit. I stayed out of the water where those submerging points would be a no no, but when I got home I had this puffy red spot on my stomach. I also didn't wear my compression garment during those 4 hours. So of course I'm completely panicked about it now. And.... lets make this much better by saying its Saturday and Monday is Memorial day. sooo no help for quite a few days.

My Mother in Law, who is a nurse, said just give it a little time. She asked if it was hot and I told her my stomach is completely asleep SO how would I know and she said it would feel hot on the outside. She also suggested I keep track of my temperature and see if it spikes at all. This is a little scary. I'm not sick very often.
